about Benedicta Bertau
I am director, actor, clown, Associate Artistic Director for Walking the dog Theater (New York), movement specialist (Spacial Dynamics®), and Psychosynthesis Life Coach in the making.
Education: I have a Waldorf Teacher Training Certificate from Emerson College, England, and a B.A. in Dance/Eurythmy from Helicon College in The Hague, Netherlands. I trained in Physical Theater in Chile, the Chekhov Acting Method in Berlin, Germany, and Clowning in the Netherlands. I speak six languages, and work as a translator/editor. I am a Level I graduate in the Spacial Dynamics® movement discipline. I am currently doing the Spacial Dynamics® Level II training (movement therapy), and am training as a Psychosynthesis Life Coach.
Life: I was born in Germany, my mother was French, my father German, and I live in Palermo, Italy. Probably because I grew up bilingual and culturally between chairs, I consider myself a world citizen and have had a hard time settling down. I have lived in Germany, England, France, the Netherlands, Chile, the US, and Venice, Italy, until I found Sicily. An image I dream into is that I hold the earth in my hands.
I am continually interested in learning. My passion is to serve the human being in his earth and spirit fullness, my tools are rooted in creating art, culture, and relationship.
My home base is now in Palermo, Italy.
